Sub-Parish Profile

St. Stephen's Buwambo Church of Uganda

St. Stephen's Buwambo traces its origins to around 1910, when Omwami wa Kabaka Meshach Kintu Ssebalijja established a place of worship at his residence and later provided land for the church.

The present church foundation stone was laid on 22 November 1969 by The Rt. Rev. Dr. D. K. Nsubuga, Bishop of Namirembe Diocese.

St. Stephen's Buwambo is building long-term support for ministry through practical projects and rental income.

Heritage and Legacy

Built through Christian service

The present church building reflects the generosity and commitment of generations of Christians. Contributions included walls, roofing, windows and doors, the pulpit, altar furniture, vestry doors, chairs, and land for the church access road.
